Character LoreIn a distant world, there was a shrine overlooked by the Wolf deity of the mountains. He was commonly known as the 'Mountain God' due to his nature of being a guardian of the mountains. He was good friends with the Fox deity whom governs over the shrine in the next town over. She would come by and visit his shrine from time to time and they would have a chat and look up to the night skies star gazing.The peaceful life of the mountain deities have come to a halt when one day the Fox deity stopped her visits to the Wolf deity's shrine. He worried for her but there was no news of her. Then one day some little fox spirits rushed into the denizens of the Wolf mountains, bearing news of the disappearance of their Fox deity. The Wolf deity knew all to well of what happened; once a deity is forgotten in the minds of the human the said deity will cease to exist and just vanish into thin air. Saddened with the loss of his friend and partner all he could do was howl to the moons during the nights in rememberance of the Fox deity. For only he remained to remember those that left. He took the young fox spirits under his care amongst the little wolf pup spirits. It wasn't long before they all grew close with one another and became a playful bunch.It was only a matter of time before the human stopped visiting his shrine and he too would be forgotten. The Wolf deity fell into the depression of loneliness. But there was nothing more to be done. The humans of modern age were losing sight of their spiritual leaders and deities.It all started when he felt very lethargic, weak to his knees. He felt very powerless and couldn't move out of his bed. He knew what was coming for him. It was his time to disappear. the wolf pup spirits and fox spirits gathered around the dying Wolf deity and they all cried and howled for him. As he closed his eyes he only wished for the little ones to have a good life. and he carried one regret; he never got to go out into the world and find new things to enjoy..."Hear... Feel... Think..."A voice rang out in the nothingness of the void. He opened his eyes to find himself floating in the sea of stars.
"What is this? Where am I?" He questioned into the general direction of where the voice rang out from. Silence befell him and as he was just about to close his eyes again he heard the voice yet again.
"Noble Wolf-god. You have met a tragic end in your world. You carry with you a heart of pure gold. You prioritize the people around you over yourself. You are a valiant spirit. So I would like to grant you a little gift; to have another chance at life in a new world called Eorzea."
Before he could even respond, a star in front of him started to burn up brightly until he was embraced into the light. Next thing he remembers is a little fox kit was snuggling up to his face trying to wake him up from his slumber. He woke up in a field of grasslands with trees all around him. Embracing the little fox kit into his arms he rose to his feet and looked around until he found civilisation. At the entrance he was met by two guard-like men who seemd like human and yet not quite like one as they had pointy ears.
"So, what brings you to New Gridania Mister... what do I call ye?"
One of the guards asked him.
The Wolf closed his eyes for a moment until he could think of a name. A name that he will go by from this day forward.
